The Avalanche announced Tuesday they have signed defenseman Anton Lindholm to a two-year contract.

Lindholm, 24, was a restricted free agent. The contract is for $1.485 million with a salary cap hit of $742,500 each year, according to capfriendly.com. It’s a two-way deal for $150,000 if he plays in the minors this season and $250,000 in 2020-21.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound Lindholm had a goal and seven assists in 57 games for the Colorado Eagles of the AHL last season, and a goal in four playoff games. He played in two Avalanche games without a point.

A native of Skelleftea, Sweden, Lindholm was the Avalanche’s fifth-round pick (No. 144) in the 2014 NHL draft. He played in an NHL career-high 48 games in 2017-18 and had four assists.

Lindholm has four assists in 62 career NHL games. He has 21 points (three goals, 18 assists) in 119 career AHL games.
