The Athletic's, Ian Tulloch took a stab at 10 players to watch as breakout contenders for 2019-20 season. He included Wild forwards, Kevin Fiala and Ryan Donato as two of those guys.
We saw a glimpse of what Donato is capable of. Fiala was a lot more up and down after his arrival ti the state of Hockey.
The funny things is how many look at those small sample sizes and declare that is all either player will be.
Remember this one fact, and that is neither player has suited up in a Wild sweater that included Matt Dumba in the lineup.
Both players arrived when the season was in shambles and the rudderless ship was sinking.
Top six minutes and powerplay time will show that both Donato and Fiala belong on that list.
The Wild are in a transition after seemingly icing the same roster for much of the previous four to five seasons.
There are no guarantees that the Wild will be any better as far as the standings are concerned, however they promise to be a lot more entertaining.
