So if you are a kid growing up in cold, cold Russia it probably doesn't suck to get paid around 10M a year to play hockey in Florida...The Lightning assured today that for the foreseeable future teams doing the Florida roadtrip will have to deal with the Bobrovsky and Vasilevskiy. No big deal...geez.
While this was expected to be tough, sources tell me Yzerman deemed Andrei Vasilevskiy's deal necessary to get done prior to Brayden Point...and I am hearing that deal is close...Brayden Point could at least get the ball rolling ...perhaps...on the other big dogs we will be looking at this week as July comes to a close.
On Marner...
I am told the Leafs and Marner talks could shift drastically if there isn't movement by the end of July. How? "The trade route will have to be taken more seriously and Marner's group is aware of that shift. The Leafs aren't screwing around."
On Tkachuk...
The Flames are very much interested in Brayden Point's deal. There has been almost no movement at all so far.
On Laine...
Patrick Laine's deal is perhaps the most up in the air as the Canadiens are trying all they can to pry him away via a trade or less-likely offer sheet.
