Shattenkirk Enters Free Agent Pool After Buyout...Who Should Sign Him? |

Well kids, a right-handed power-play defenseman has entered the pool of available players.
That comes as a result of Kevin Shattenkirk, signed to a four-year deal worth $26.6 million by the Rangers in 2017, has been bought out by the Rangers after being replaced by Jacob Trouba.
Shattenkirk, who has hit the 40-point mark five times in his career, is going to land somewhere and this really complicates things for a player like Jake Gardiner.
But who is interested in the veteran Shattenkirk?
So far, New Jersey may be the favorite, as Ray Shero has always loved him. The Devils have also had a busy summer, upgrading their roster with the addition of defenseman P.K. Subban and forwards Nikita Gusev and Wayne Simmonds. The Devils also drafted Jack Hughes with the No. 1 overall pick. Adding Shattenkirk to that could turn the Devils into a definite team of interest in the Metropolitan Division.
But the Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, and Toronto Maple Leafs are all going to get involved, as could the Florida Panthers.
Where do you think the best fit for Shattenkirk is?
