Grading the Coyotes Summer Transactions List Part 2 |
|
|
|
The Coyotes made several big moves in June, culminating with the Phil Kessel trade on June 30th.
Unfortunately, they didn't do anything in July.
They signed zero impact free-agents on July first.
They made zero trades in July.
Here is a list of their July transactions:
Signed Ivan Provetsov
Signed Andy Miele
Signed Aaron Ness
Signed Beau Bennett
Signed Lawson Crouse
Signed Michael Bunting
Signed Hudson Fasching
Signed recent first round pick Victor Soderstrom
Signed Dyson Mayo
That is the worst collection of house keeping moves since my Mom fired her housekeeper for stealing her collection of WWF action figures.
Some of these guys are on two way contracts, some are prospects, some are depth moves, but all of them are boring. How is a guy supposed to write entertaining Coyotes blogs day after day if this is all his team gives him to work with?
I'll be a son of a bitch if I'm gonna waste your time writing about Hudson Fasching or Michael Bunting.
So I'm going to give the Coyotes a collective D- on these moves. I didn't go with an F because most of these are necessary depth moves that teams have to make. But I didn't go with a higher grade because it's such a collection of uninspiring boring moves.
The Coyotes really shouldn't have wasted the rest of their cap space on Carl Soderberg, and they are desperately in need of adding at least one more impact player, but I have no idea how they'll pull off such a move.
In other news, it seems like Oliver Ekman-Larsson was attacked by a werewolf recently, so I'll have more on that tomorrow.
Stay tuned.
