On Marner...
A source familiar with the proceeding say a two year deal appears to be gaining some traction today...I really cannot see any upside to this for the Leafs unless they simply believe they need to see more of Marner to decide where he sits.... If the number he is asking for is way too high I guess this is one way of bringing it down...but risky...so risky.
On the Wild GM job...
It sounds to me like the field may be narrowing after Waddell decided he would remain in Carolina...It also looks like the field could be down to a few highly respected, first time GMs. Billy Guerin and Tom Fitzgerald.
