Quick update on this HOT Sunday in August.

There has been a lot of talk about the fact that most of the pundits out there are saying the RFAs wont be getting signed until after camp opens....but at least one team is not OK with that.

A source with the Maple Leafs texted me this morning that the they are starting to prepare for all possibilities, including a trade, if Mitch Marner isn't inked to a deal in the next few days. This is a team that went through the extended hold out last year with a far less important player....and they have really gone out of their way to open up plenty of space for Marner...and yet they are "feeling quite disrespected at the moment and if the Marners aren't willing to stop the games changes to the process are imminent.”

Laine Talks with the Jets planned...

I was just told the two sides are scheduling a meeting....Not sure where this leads, but the Islanders and Canadiens are both highly interested...
