It won’t be long before your friends and foes in your fantasy hockey leagues begin preparing for their hockey pools. I’ve begun to start scouring the lists of prospects looking to make the jump and there are a few interesting looking young guns to keep and eye on. There are also a few players that got traded or signed fresh deals with new teams. There have been a number of teams that have had huge turn a rounds and others that have really fallen off.

Lots of factors to look at in the overall, and when you are in five pools like myself you want to be as prepared as possible. A bit of leg work now will pay off in months when you are sitting at the top of your league with a bunch of quality picks at the top and some hidden gems in the later rounds. That there is where the difference is made.

For the record I’m in head to head (no keepers), rotisserie (40 keepers), head to head (4 keepers), rotisserie (2 keepers) and HBSL (Hockey Buzz Super League). From Yahoo to ESPN to CBS I use all applications for the different fantasy leagues that I’m in. It’s good to see some of the action from different points of view and rankings.

I’m hoping to help guide you and myself at the same time as I prepare for the upcoming season.

If you have any questions along the way feel free to ask me in the comments section and I will reply when I get the chance. Others will comment as well with their thoughts and with some quality hockey minds working together it can make for some good fantasy hockey chat.

Keep an eye out for upcoming fantasy blogs:

Top 30 Forwards
Top 30 Defense
Top 30 Goaltenders
Hidden Gems
Breakout Players
Drafting Strategy
Sophomore Sizzlers
Raw Dog Rookies

The list goes on.

Once the season begins I will give you updates on injuries, starting goalies and hot/cold players for spot starts. I’ll also give some ideas for proposing trades and see if you can’t come out with a fleece job or two of your own this season.

Looking forward to yet another quality fantasy season. Hope you join in on the fun!

Thanks for reading.
