With prospects Rasmus Sandin, Jeremy Bracco and Timothy Liljegren not on the Toronto Maple Leafs roster, one of the main attractions for this weekend's rookie tournament in Traverse City, MI was seeing young goalies Joseph Woll and Ian Scott battling each other for the first time.

Unfortunately that head-to-head competition will have to wait, as the Leafs announced on Thursday that Woll will miss the tournament with a broken finger.

Woll, 21, posted a 2.41 GAA and .919 save percentage with Boston College last season before signing a two-year entry-level with Toronto in April.

The Leafs have replaced Woll on the roster with 2019 seventh round pick Kalle Loponen, who earlier this week announced he would be leaving Finland and play for the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves. The duties between the pipes will be split between Scott and Russian goaltender Maksim Zhukov, who split time between the USHL and the Barrie Colts last season and was signed to an AHL contract.
