A couple of weeks ago it was reported that the winger from the KHL was looking to sign a deal with an NHL team, with the Edmonton Oilers being listed as one of the favourites. Those reports died down as training camp started and Holland himself stated that Edmonton was likely not looking at any PTO's. While not 100% official yet it appears as though Burdasov will come to camp for the Oil.

The 28 year old winger has spent his entire career in the KHL. At 6'3 and 198lbs, Burdasov has been described as having decent speed and a player who uses his body to protect the puck well. For Edmonton, what is most important though is his scoring ability. Last season Burdasov led Ufa Salavat Yulayev in goals with 19 through 50 games. Fun fact, Burdasov played with past Oilers such as Teemu Hartikainen, Philip Larsen, and Linus Omark.

His agent has gone on record saying he believes he will be most effective in a top 6 role in the NHL. Obviously that's the kind of thing any agent is going to say regarding his client, but the is absolutely an opportunity wide open in the top 6 for the Edmonton Oilers.

Burdasov is another left shot winger, but Neal often will play on the right side. Does Holland and Tippett want to try a Burdasov-Nuge-Neal line? That would be my bet.

I'll post more as more information comes in.
