His career high of 41 is probably ~15 shy of where he’d need to be to crack the top-10 but I think he can do it. Hear me out.
From 2016-18, Nylander ranked top-15 in assists/60 at 5v5 and top-25 when factoring in all game states. He is clearly an elite playmaker.
I think he’s going to be ultra motivated to stick it to all the people who ripped him constantly throughout the 2018-19 season, and I have no doubt he will do just that. He has all the talent in the world and this year he should be back with Auston Matthews, one of the game’s most efficient goal scorers, on a full-time basis.
I think Matthews is going to contend for the Rocket Richard so it’d only make sense I predict his No. 1 running mate, Nylander, to pile up the assists.

The Boston Bruins beat the Leafs in the first round... just kidding, that isn't bold.
William Nylander has more points than Mitch Marner. Until last season Marner and Nylander were fairly close with one another in terms of production. With the contract issues last season for Nylander and a brilliant showing by Marner, the latter has jumped much higher in stock.
With a full training camp under his belt and not having to start in January, we are going to see the dynamic Nylander once more. Nylander will break the 30 goal mark and Marner will fall back down to being a 70ish point player.
