Coyotes Training Camp Notes

Hey It's training camp and of course love is in the air.

Who among us doesn't enjoy the fresh smell of fall, the inundation of jokes about Pumpkin spice (even though I've never seen anyone actually eat the stuff), as well as Satan into our everyday lives?

Classic Autumn.

Yes, kids it's September and that means it's both Satan's birthday (Hi Mom) and the opening of NHL training camps.

I for one couldn't be happier.

The Prince of Darkness, whose birthday is the 14th, cheers for the Penguins (ironically) which explains why they've won 15 scoring titles and the Leafs have own zero since the 80s.

But we are not here to talk about the man responsible for the Rob Thomas/Carlos Santana team-up, all those Transformer's movies or the current president. We are here to discuss the Coyotes.

Here's some notes from camp:

- So, the Coyotes are 1-2, having been crushed by Vegas in their first game, then splitting a mixed squad double header......the win featured a 5-0 shutout though.

- Annti Raanta got back in action for the first time in almost a year. He looked like he hadn't missed a day. Man do I love Annti Rannta with a fervor approaching the religious.

- The Coyotes open the season October 3rd against Anaheim.

- Arizona has cut several people, and have 52 people left in camp, but the only one you'd know or care about is Kevin Bahl, the 6'6 second rounder from 2018.

- Not that there was any chance of him making the team, but I would have expected Bahl to stick a little longer. He has returned to the OHL, where he will likely do very well. It's easy to say oh well they drafted a huge guy too earlier, and assume he sucks, but I've actually heard that Bahl is a pretty decent prospect.

That's really it.

Here's a list of the other cuts, in case you're a completest.

Thanks for reading my dear dear friends!
