Well, That was Certainly Predictable

Stop me if you've heard this one before:

The Coyotes played a half-decent game, their goalie was awesome, they limited their opponent to two goals or less and still lost.

Someone call Denzel, cause I'm having Deja Vu.

Why is this team dressing Bard Richardson (he loves Hamlet), Crouse, Hinostroza or Grabner ahead of Barrett Hayton?

Not that those four players are bad (I have a strong partiality to Hinostroza) but you are a team that doesn't score, you know you are a team that doesn't score, and Hayton is - at worst - your third most talented forward.

Rookie or not, you need those chops.

If you hold the other team to two goals and don't win, that's a problem.

The game was OK - Kuemper earned every dollar he was paid last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching Kessel the four times I noticed him, but OEL and Demers were brutal, and the line or Hinostroza, Richardson and Grabner was absolutely caved in.

Here is one problem the Coyotes have: coaching.

For 60 minutes of hockey, they had one individual rush, and it was by Hjallmarsson. You've got to play more aggressively than that. How can you score any goals if you don't have any rushes?

Kessel was pretty disappointing too. He had two shots, both at the end of the game, and although he picked up one assist, I'd like to have seen him get more shots.

Only four shot attempts for Kessel, so that's not good.

The Coyotes had a good first period, but weren't too hot after that. Overall, I'd say the game was typical of the Coyotes - low event, boring, no offense and a goalie who needs a shutout to win a game.
