Yes indeed, the Edmonton Oilers are 5-0.

Ok, so maybe this is a little bragging while I still can, but having picked Edmonton to win this division, I am quite pleased with the 5-0 start. Yes, you can look at the schedule they have played so far and say...it's easy for them to go 5-0...but this gets down to the essential issue I have with the Oilers haters out there...

You can't have it both ways..

You can't say the Oilers in definitely NOT a playoff team while saying they SHOULD beat teams. The Oilers have won their five games by playing solid, two-way hockey, limiting their opponent's chances (the shots they are allowing is WAY down) AND getting key scoring from their true scorers...

Beyond that...they have set an NHL record with 5 straight come-from-behind wins to start an NHL season. That means something, but it also means something to Oilers fans who have seen their team get early leads and then get caught...

Are they for real?

The big tournament launches tomorrow, on Canadien Thanksgiving, with the All-Time Canadiens facing off against the All-time Golden Knights. It will be broadcast LIVE in my blog. afternoon...time TBA.

Also thanks to FUNGOSPORTS.com for partnering with us in picking the Greatest All-Time teams...The #2 Seed Habs will face the #31 seed Golden Knights...Tough draw for Vegas fighting a 100+ year history with a slightly more than 2 year history...
