A Spooky Trade (Ghost for Casper) that Could Have Happened. Could it Still?

Hanging out last night with the Philly and Toronto Press in between periods the discussion came up about a rumor many of us heard a few years back...a trade I was told the Flyers wouldn't do at the time, but some Leaf media disagreed hearing the issue may have been on Toronto's side...

The supposed deal centered around Flyers D-man Shayne Gostisbehere for Leafs forward Kasperi Kapanen.

The deal made some sense on both sides...The Leafs were looking hard for a young D who could play on the top pair and the Flyers, with many prospects on D, knew Casper very well. He did after all grow up in Cherry Hill, NJ while has dad Sami Kapanen was a a beloved warrior for the Flyers. Kasperi would be around the rink as a kid all the time...Last night, wearing Blue and White he scored the kind of goal his dad would be proud of....It was the first goal last night...

So my question to you....could this trade still happen?
