Philipp Grubauer has joined the Avalanche injury list and will miss the next two games, coach
Jared Bednar said, starting Thursday against Nashville at the Pepsi Center.

Bednar said after the morning skate that Grubauer has a lower-body injury and is day to day.
“He tweaked it last game against Dallas (a 4-1 loss Monday), but something’s been bugging him for a little bit,” Bednar said, adding he expects Grubauer to make the five-game trip that starts Tuesday in Winnipeg.
Pavel Francouz will start and
Adam Werner is the backup after his call-up from the Colorado Eagles.
Werner, 22, is 6-feet-5 and 205 pounds. He’s from Mariestad, Sweden and was the Avalanche’s fifth-round pick (No. 131) in the 2016 NHL draft. He had a 5-4-0 record with the Eagles with a 2.88 goals-against average and .908 save percentage.
This was already going to be a tough one for the Avalanche, who are still without forwards
Gabriel Landeskog, Mikko Rantanen and
Colin Wilson.
They’ve gone 1-5-1 after their 7-0-1 start, have been outscored 18-7 in a five-game losing streak (0-4-1) and slipped into third place in the Central Division, two points behind Nashville.
The Predators are 5-1-1 in their past seven games, and goalie
Pekka Rinne is going for his 350th career win. He’s 8-0-2 this season with two shutouts, a 2.07 goals-against average and .923 save percentage.
We’ll have to wait until game time to see the Avalanche lineup. Bednar declined to reveal it after the morning skate.
“There’ll be a little bit of a blender going,” he said. “I’ll try to play
(Nathan) MacKinnon and a couple other guys as much as I possibly can. You’ll see a bunch of different combinations.”
The Avalanche called up forward
T.J. Tynan from the Eagles. He was their leading scorer with 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 10 games.
Tynan, 27, is 5-8 and 165 pounds. He signed as a free agent July 1 after finishing tied for third in AHL scoring last season with 71 points (12 goals, 59 assists) in 71 games for the Chicago Wolves.
He played four years at Notre Dame. His only three previous NHL games came with Columbus in 2016-17.
