Winning Road Trip? Wild Kings

The Wild have the opportunity to come home with a winning road trip for the first time this season. A win tonight in Los Angeles would give them a 3-1 record on their West Coast swing.

Small victories start to add up as the Wild look to continue their climb from the deep hole from which they dug themselves into.

Saturday's win in Arizona showed a lot of character as the Wild came back from another early multiple goal deficit. The emotions ran high as former Wild goaltender, Darcy Kuemper, chose to stir the pot early and often and the Wild so aptly made him eat his words led by the captain himself.

Koivu is not one to chirp at the opposition very often if ever, however Kuemper got Mikko going and the boys rode that wave to a come from behind victory.

Kevin Fiala scored his third goal in as many games and is starting to regain his confidence. Now to get Greenway going is the next stepping stone in transitioning the Wild offense to the youth of the team.

The Wild have stabilized their game of late and are playing much more competitive hockey.

Los Angeles is a team much like the Wild trying to find their identity in rebuild mold. The first time the teams met this season a couple weeks back the Wild used a big third period to beat the Kings in St. Paul. You will recall that was not exactly as lopsided a contest as the final score indicated.

Tonight the Wild better be ready from the start, as the Kings will for certain be looking to make amends for the loss in Minnesota.

It's always Hockey Day in The State of Hockey!
