The Carolina Hurricanes will look to continue their hot streak tonight, aiming to improve to seven wins in their last eight games. Here’s the pre-game report for their game in New York against the Rangers.

Some good news for the Rangers- it seems like they’ll be getting Mika Zibanejad back tonight. He had 11 points in nine games before his injury and will give New York a big boost offensively. Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start.

For Carolina, Andrei Svechnikov is riding an eight-game point streak, while Teuvo Teravainen has 14 points in his last nine games. Petr Mrazek is the likely starter for the Hurricanes. His save percentage has dropped to a .903 in 16 games this season (yikes) after having less than stellar outings in about four of his last seven starts. The problem with Mrazek has always been about consistency and early on, it seems like it’ll be the same theme for him this year as well.

The Rangers won the first meeting of the season in Carolina by a score of 4-2, despite being terribly outplayed and getting outshot 47-18.

Puck drop tonight is at 7 p.m.
