No guarantee, but it sure looks like
Gabriel Landeskog will be in the lineup Thursday when the Avalanche take a four-game winning streak into Montreal.
The Avalanche assigned
Logan O’Connor to the Colorado Eagles, and Landeskog was on the ice in the morning with
Andre Burakovsky and goalie
Pavel Francouz, who is scheduled to start. There wasn't a formal team skate.
GAME NOTES
Landeskog, who has missed 16 games with a right leg injury, has seven points (three goals, four assists) in 11 games. He last played Oct. 26 against Anaheim.
Burakovsky, who has missed three games with an upper-body injury, has 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 24 games. He last played Nov. 27 against Edmonton.
Matt Calvert returned Wednesday in the Avalanche’s 3-1 win in Toronto after missing six games with a concussion.
If Landeskog and Burakovsky play against the Canadiens, it will leave
Erik Johnson and
Colin Wilson -- both have lower-body injuries -- as the only remaining injured players, though
Vladislav Kamenev didn't play Wednesday because of illness.
Here’s an interesting story about
NATHAN MACKINNON’S CONTRACT SITUATION and why he’s fine with being underpaid considering what he’s worth in today’s marketplace.
MacKinnon has a goal in five consecutive games and 18 points (seven goals, 11 assists) in an eight-game point streak. He is tied with Boston’s
Brad Marchand for third in NHL scoring with 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) in 27 games.
