I think I said that if the Wild took four out of six on this trip it would be time to take notice that this team is for real. Well with the win tonight in Tampa they have four points already on the trip with one more to play Saturday night in Carolina.

We all know that the next two and half months are heavily stacked with home games and there is real opportunity for the Wild to make a charge up the Western Conference standings.

Carson Soucy scored again and also dished out an assist while Jonas Brodin chipped in two assists picking up for the injured Jared Spurgeon.

Joel Eriksson Ek continues to excel and become one of the NHL's best shut down forwards. JEE also got the offense rolling with his second of the season. Eriksson Ek is a master at keeping the opposition's best players frustration level at a fever pitch. Not at all sure what he says or does but it is surely effective and maddening for his opponents.

Alex Stalock stood tall in the last minutes protecting the Wild one goal lead. The goaltending has been strong in the absence of Devan Dubnyk who is away from the team as his wife Jenn is dealing with some serious health concerns.

The job that Bruce Boudreau has done with this team cannot be overlooked as he has turned this team around and gotten the guys to buy in. October this team looked so old and slow, fast forward a month and a half and they are getting production up and down the lineup and the lines a gelling with a next man up attitude that is creating a confidence that we haven't seen in quite some time.

Five in a row and points in 11 straight, very impressive turnaround for a team that looked dead just a few weeks ago.

Next up Carolina before the Wild head home for believe it or not their first three game home stand of the season.
