Hello from the Ted Darling Memorial Press Box in Buffalo, NY where the Sabres are about to play host to the Nashville Predators.

It's "'80s Night" here tonight.

Does Zach Bogosian want to make it "Adios Night"?

Bogosian is a $5.142 million annual averae value this season. The Sabres could absorb up to 50% of the remaining dollars on the Bogosian contract in order to facilitate a mutually agreeable trade.

The former third overall pick in 2008 NHL Draft is now 29 years of age and the final year of a seven-year, $36 million contract and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer.

The Buffalo blue line is an over crowded house right now with 8 healthy NHL defenseman. Rasmus Dahlin returned tonight from an 8 game absence due to a concussion. Dahlin is healthy .

Ralph Kreuger is rolling 7 defensemen with 11 forwards tonoight.

Bogo is a right shot D and is now the odd man out. Not because he is playing terribly but because Ralph Kreuger is committed to playing righties Brandon Montour, Rasmus Ristolainen, Colin Miller, and 20 year old Hank Jokiharju.

The Sabres are also shopping left shot D Marco Scandella who is a pending UFA come July 1, 2020.

Bogosian had off season hip surgery and made his return to the Sabres lineup last month.

In 10 games played this season, Bogosian has 3 assists and is +2 im 18:45 TOI.

Acquired in the Evander Kane trade with Winniped in 2014, Bogoaian has played 234 games with the Sabres colelvcting 12 goals, 53 assists, and 228 PIMs. He is -47 in his tenure with Sabres. Bogosian is a 21:36 ATOI defensemen in Buffalo.

In his 12 year NHL career, Bogosian has scored 52G, 140A in 627 career games.

Jason Botterill wants a top six forward. He can package Bogosian with forward Conor Sheary or Evan Rodrigues, and a 2020 second rounder to secure a top six forward

Which NHL clubs are interested in a right shot, veteran puck mover who can play in all sitiations?

The Washington Capitals have sent their director of player personnel here tonight to scout the Sabres.

The New Jersey Devils, Anaheim Ducks, Winnipeg Jets, Vegas Golden Knights, Tampa Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, LA Kings, San Jose Sharks, NY Rangers, and Pittsburgh Penguins have also been scouting the Sabres for weeks. A trade is in the not too distant future.

'
Might Botterill be going all in on a Taylor Hall trade?

There are tremors that suggest as much.

Botterill must subtract Bogosian’s contract in order to add a top six scorer.

There are many forward targets on Botterill’s dashboard.

Will Botterill go hard at Tyler Toffoli?

Rickard Rakell?

Anthony Cirelli?

Alex Tuch?

Kevin Labanc?

Andreas Athanasiou?

Chris Kreider?

Alex Galchenyuk?

Nic Ehlers?

Jack Roslovic?

Stay tuned. The NHL holiday roster freeze will be in effect from midnight on December 19 to midnight on the 27th.
