Jack Eichel is hotter than a pistol.

Yes, Eichel is scoring goals and producing points at even strength at a personal best rate. However, Eichel is playing excellent hockey away from the puck by winning physical battles, fighting, back checking, blocking shots, and fore checking like his hair is on fire.

Eichel is making his line mates Samson Reinhart and Victor Olofsson better.

The North Chelmsford Assassin has been dragging his tea. Yes into the battle in every game this season like a Hart Trophy candidate. It would not surprise me in the least to see Eichel accept the NHL MVP award in Las Vegas when the 2019-20 season ends.

Eichel scored two more goals Thursday night against Nashville and now ranks second in the NHL with 22 goals this season. Eichel’s six multi-goal games in 2019-20 lead the NHL.

Eichel extended his torrid point scoring streak to 15 games in which he has scored 14 goals and 13 assists, tying Buffalo native Patrick Kane for the longest point streak in the NHL this season.


Eichel now has the sixth-longest point scoring streak in Buffalo Sabres franchise history.


Eichel has Pierre Turgeon for 24th in Buffalo Sabres franchise history with 123 career goals.


By potting a deuce on the Predators, Eichel now has 5 goals and 6 assists in 9 career games against Nashville.

The Sabres are in second place in the Atlantic Division and will next play on Long Island on Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm. When he records a point against the Isles, Eichel’s point scoring streak to 16 games and a tie with Tim Connolly for the longest point streak in the Sabres’ 50 year franchise history.

Eichel has 10 points in 12 career games versus the Islanders.
