Finally some Wild hockey as the bye week and All-Star breaks are b ed hind us the Bruins are on the slate at the X tonight.

The seven game homestand has seen the Wild grab 6 of the possible 8 points through the first four g as mes with the only blemish being the disappointing late third period collapse against Florida.

Opening February six points out of the final wildcard position in the very competitive Western Conference, the Wild have their work cut out for them if they intend on making the leap over the three teams that sit between them before taking aim at breaking through to the top eight.

Revenge should be on the minds of the Wild who relinquished a late 2-goal lead in Boston before eventually losing in overtime back in late November. Time to turn the tables and get th he two points tonight.

With the trade deadline fast approaching the eyes of the Wild brass nedd to be firmly on the future with less focus on the present position of the team. Is this really a team that can first make the playoffs with the instabiloty of the current goaltending situation and the erratic offensive ups and downs that have put the team in it's where they are today last in the Central and 12th in the Western Conference.

The names b er ing bandied about such as Jason Zucker, Jonas Brodin, and Matt Dumba if dealt need to return extreme value. Especially if Dumba is to be moved because his numbers are significantly down is it really the right time to move the one player that only 12 months ago was considered untouchable?

Glad to have the Wild back in live action as they make their push to move up the standings and by no means should they be thinking anything else. My point is for Wild management to think big picture in everything that they do between now and February 24th.

It's always Hockey Day in the State of Hockey!
