With just three weeks left in the regular season, KHL has announced best players for the 20th week.
The best goalie was Alexander Samonov (SKA), who didn’t allow any goal in last week’s two games – including one road match. His shutouts against Avangard and Spartak were his third and fourth of the season, respectively. Samonov’s shutout streak is still alive and is now at 125 minutes and 42 seconds.
The best defenseman was Nikita Cherepanov (Lokomotiv), who won three of four games with his team last week, scoring 3 (2+1) goals. Cherepanov’s goal against Torpedo was the game-winner. The Lokomotiv’s defenseman posted positive plus/minus ratings in all the games, ending the week being plus-6 (best numbers of the week among all defensemen).
The best forward was Dmitrij Jaskin (Dynamo Moscow), who won all four games (including one road match) with his team last week, scoring 8 (5+3) points (best numbers of the week). The Dynamo forward scored in all games, posting a double against Torpedo, and always posted positive plus/minus ratings, ending the week being plus-8. In Monday’s match against Lokomotiv, Jaskin broke the Blue-and-Whites’ single-season record for most goals in the regular season, with 27. Moreover, the Dynamo forward had 24 shots on goal and recorded 13 hits.
The best rookie was goalie Vladimir Galkin (Avtomobilist), who had his KHL debut last week, winning two of three games (including one road match). His only loss occurred on SO. The 19-years-old netminder had a saves percentage of 92.31% and a goals-against average of 1.87.
