Word on the street is that Darcy Kuemper will be back for Tuesday's game, after being sent to the AHL on a conditioning stint.

Kuemper hasn't played since December 19th, and was the NHL's best goalie and leading Vezina candidate at the time of his injury.

The Coyotes, who had recently acquired Taylor Hall and were sitting at the top of their division at the time, have been the NHL's seventh worst team since Kuemper went down.

They have gone 11-13-4 getting less than half the points available to them.

At the time of Kuemper's injury, the Coyotes were the 11th best team in the NHL, and despite awful team stats, they had the third best goaltending, just slightly out of first.

Since the injury, they've gotten "just" the 9th best goaltending, but the difference is massive. Instead of being nearly a top-ten team, they're nearly a bottom-five team.

Interestingly, the Islanders were getting the second best goaltending at the time of Kuemper's injury, and were the NHL's second best team.

Since then, they have the same record as Arizona, and are the NHL's 24th best team as their goaltending went from 2nd to 21st.

Hmmmmmmmm.........I seem to remember the entire Islander's fan base trolling someone for an entire week who had the guts to point out that they were a bad team masquerading as a contender due to unsustainable goaltending.

I can't remember the name of this genius, but I think his name was something like Tim Janner.

Anyways, the Coyotes just smashed the Lightning 7-3 in what was probably the game of the year for them.

Connor Garland had four points and the Coyotes won a game where their goalie didn't have a strong save percentage.

Pretty sweet!

Can't wait to see what the team does between now and 3PM tomorrow.
