Gustafsson to CAL

Lehner to VGK

TC's Take: I will have a bigger breakdown once I hear the return. Lehner to LV is a shock to me. There's a really good chance he doesn't resign there with MAF on a long-term deal, so there's a tiny, slim chance the Hawks can revisit talks with him July 1st (granted the Hawks didn't screw it up).

@ByScottPowers
Source says the Hurricanes are likely out on Gustafsson and Lehner as of right now.

TC's Take: Sounds like CAR is out. With this news, one would think Stan would go down his list and pull the trigger on a Gustafsson deal... that may or may not include Lehner. However, I would say moving Lehner now is highly unlikely IMO (watch him be dealt now).

@JayZawaski670
I'm told the Blackhawks have been underwhelmed by the offers they've received for Lehner so far. Things change. It's a chess match, but that's the latest I have.

TC's take
: Stan is going to be very underwhelmed when he gets nothing in return because he waits this out too long.

@PierreVLeBrun
Hurricanes still chasing a D and would prefer not to go the rental route

TC's Take: Would the Canes entertain Olli Maatta or Connor Murphy over Erik Gustafsson?

If Pierre is correct, Gus doesn't fit their plans. We may see Gustafsson heading to another team other than CAR.

*Breaking News*
@Canes
acquire Trochek for for Haula, Wallmark and 2 prospects.

FINAL DEAL
@FriedgeHNIC
Trocheck to CAR for Haula, Wallmark, Chase Priskie and Eetu Luostarinen

TC's take: Has CAR moved on from Stan and his goalies? They opt to acquire a C vs. a dman or G.

Stan... what's up, pal?

9:26am

@Sportsnet “Brandon Saad is in play.”

TC's Take:
I can only see Saad going if there is a younger, dynamic player included in a package that the Hawks can plug into the lineup now or at least next year. Maybe this player isn't in the NHL right now but on the cusp of being an NHLer.

Guys like Lias Andersson and Puljujarvi come to mind. <- no I'm not suggesting those trades but guys like that.

The Hawks lost 2-1 on Sunday vs. Dallas.

At this point, the losses are welcomed as the Hawks are headed towards a high draft pick again this summer – the higher the better!

No need to breakdown the on-ice happens when we've reached 2020 Trade Deadline Day.

This blog will serve as a live blog with rumours, whispers, and instant trade analysis.

As it stands right now, the Hawks sit with Erik Gustafsson and Robin Lehner as the two main assets for Stan and the Blackhawks.

Carolina is the most rumoured destination for both. The return? One would have to think a 1st rounder (CAR has 2x) coupled with a high-end prospect would be a starting point.

Stan better play this one correctly because there aren't many teams out there that need a goalie, so if CAR doesn't want to pay his high demands, then he might be caught empty-handed by Monday evening.

Stay tuned for more rumours and (eventual) trades.

Mike Green (@ 50% salary) traded to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Kyle Brodziak and a conditional 4th rounder.

TC's Take: this is not a good thing for Stan Bowman who has yet to trade Erik Gustafsson. Mike Green isn't the player he used to be, but he's an offensive style guy who is a pending UFA.

If the Red Wings had to eat half of his salary and eat Kyle Brodziak's contract just to get conditional 4th round (becomes 3rd if EDM makes conference finals and Green plays in 50% of games).

See ya out there!
