Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I'm a day late, but here are this week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.

QUESTION: How many points do you expect from Brent Burns next season?

(Votes: 152)

50-60 points: 34%
Less than 50 points: 33%
60-70 points: 22%
More than 70 points: 11%

Burns is now 35 years old and isn’t likely to see a spike in production again. While his defense is certainly the larger concern than his offense as he continues to age, like 67 per cent of readers voted, I don’t think Burns is passing 60 points next season.

QUESTION: How many goals do you expect from Logan Couture next season?

(Votes: 83)

25-30 goals: 43%
More than 30 goals: 29%
Less than 25 goals: 28%

Couture has been very consistent with his goal totals throughout his career and we can put his range between 25 and 35 goals per season, it’s usually just a matter of where it’ll land in that range. As a result, I think he’s scoring at least 25 goals, like 72 per cent of readers voted, though I don’t think I’d bet on him as a lock to reach 30 goals, as he’s scored between 25 and 30 goals in the majority of the last six or seven seasons.

QUESTION: Do you hope the Sharks re-sign Aaron Dell?

(Votes: 61)

No: 72%
Yes: 28%

Like I’ve said, I think Dell can make for a good backup goalie but considering Martin Jones’ inconsistency, the Sharks need someone who can take on a high number of games effectively. As a result, Dell has to go.

QUESTION: How did you feel about Mario Ferraro's first NHL season?

(Votes: 45)

Happy with how it went: 80%
Don’t feel strongly either way: 18%
Not happy with how it went: 2%

Ferraro isn’t a star by any means, but considering he made the jump directly from the NCAA to the NHL at 21 years old, I don’t think we can really complain about his season. The next test will be whether he’s able to help fill the hole left by Brenden Dillon’s departure.

QUESTION: Do you think the Sharks will try to make any trades to get another first-round pick in this year's draft?

(Votes: 160)

No: 65%
Yes: 35%

This is where I’m at too, considering I think they already made this deal in trading away Barclay Goodrow. On top of that, there aren’t any clear pieces that Sharks should be selling off that would warrant a first-round pick.
