Rick Dudley will be leaving the Carolina Hurricanes after two seasons with the organization, General Manager Don Waddell confirmed in an interview with The Associated Press.

A little more on Rick Dudley leaving Carolina: His departure was in the works well before the Sabres' front-office shakeup. While it's definitely logical he'll explore a job in Buffalo, the two decisions aren't related.

Dudley served as the Senior Vice President of Hockey Operations and decided he would be leaving the Hurricanes once his contract expired, according to Waddell. Prior to joining the organization, Dudley had worked as both an NHL head coach and as a general manager at different points of his career.
