Couturier Wins 2019-20 Bobby Clarke Trophy |

For the second straight year, Flyers center Sean Couturier has won the Bobby Clarke Trophy as Flyers team MVP, as chosen by a panel of local hockey writers and broadcasters.
A model of consistency and a quiet leader, the 27-year-old Couturier could win the Selke Trophy this season for the first time in his NHL career (he was a finalist in 2017-18). He dressed in all 69 games the team during the regular season. Offensively, he posted 22 goals and 59 points.
Although his point-production pace was down somewhat from the previous two seasons, Couturier was a model of consistency. He only went as many as three consecutive games without a point once this entire season (Oct. 24 to 27). Meanwhile, he had 14 multi-point games, two point streaks of four games (Oct. 15 to 21 and Jan. 2 to 8) and a five-game point streak (Oct. 29 to Nov. 7). Over the final 26 games before the NHL pause, Couturier posted 24 points (10g, 14a) and a +10 rating.
Couturier is the 10th repeat winner in the history of Bobby Clarke Trophy and the seventh to win it two or more consecutive seasons. Only Ron Hextall and Eric Lindros were able to win the award in three straight years. No one has done it four or more times.
In terms of total Bobby Clarke Trophy wins, Claude Giroux is the all-time franchise leader with five wins. Lindros won it four times. Hextall and Mark Recchi won it three times apiece. Couturier joins two-time winners John LeClair, Simon Gagne, Mike Richards, Jakub Voracek, and Roman Cechmanek.
