First off, anyone judging a player for opting out of this because of family health concerns needs to just get over it already. Priorities are very much to be respected. Hockey players would rather play for sure, but if you have a sick kid, and I understand this from my own experience, what is most important in life becomes blatantly obvious.

The Monday evening deadline is approaching for players to inform their teams if they plan to opt out. I will try and update the list as I hear more names.

The most significant player rumored to be possibly opting out is Montreal’s Max Domi who is a diabetic. The Canadiens have agreed to give Domi another week to decide. The Habs' Karl Alzner has opted out already.

This goes along with others already having told their teams.

That list includes the Flames' Hamonic, Canucks' Sven Baertchi, Dallas defenseman Polak, the Oilers' Mike Green (who was going to be important for Edmonton) and Boston's Steven Kampfer.

Also hearing Anton Stralman in Florida may ba a no-go. But not yet confirmed.

Stamkos injury May Be Serious.

The Lightning were quick to say yesterday that the injury was no biggie, but today I am hearing that many are being told it may relate to a previous Stamkos injury... and could be major concern. Let’s hope not. The NHL is always better with Stamkos playing.

Back with updates.
