As the dust settles today there is some serious soul searching going on out there...Pittsburgh, Edmonton, Toronto, Winnipeg...None of them made the playoffs. Think about that for a second.
I know this doesn't feel like a continuation of last season and it really should be viewed as separate tournament in general...a tournament more closely tied to the 2020-21 season than the 2019-2020 season that ended in March, 5 months ago...
So does that take the Pens, Oilers, Leafs, and Jets off the hook for not making the playoffs?
It might, but it doesn't change the fact that if you aren't moving forward you are standing still.
There are many flaws on these four teams and they need to be addressed because the teams around them are getting better by the day right now...
