Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I’m a day late, but here are last week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.
QUESTION: How did you feel about Josh Manson’s performance this season?
(Votes: 50)
Happy with it: 58%
Didn’t feel strongly either way: 28%
Not happy with it: 14%
Manson played a large role for the Ducks once again, being counted on as their only legitimate right-handed top-four defenseman. He carries a lot of responsibility and I’d imagine his role looks the same next year.
QUESTION: If Ryan Miller is back with the Ducks next season, how many games do you expect him to play?
(Votes: 55)
20-25 games: 40%
25-30 games: 27%
Less than 20 games: 24%
More than 30 games: 9%
I’m certainly with the 67 per cent of voters who see him playing between 20 and 30 games if he’s back next year, as has been the case for the last three seasons. I’d expect the number to be pretty close to 25 games.
QUESTION: Do you think the Ducks got Sonny Milano at a good price?
(Votes: 72)
Yes: 92%
No: 8%
Not much of a debate here. I think Milano got a fair deal that comes with a lot of upside for the Ducks. If he does end up becoming a quality top-six or even middle-six forward, that’s going to be a steal of a contract for Anaheim.
QUESTION: Do you like the price of Jacob Larsson’s new contract?
(Votes: 23)
Yes: 74%
No: 26%
Anaheim got a fine deal with Larsson, even if it doesn’t have as much value as the Milano or Terry contracts. If he can round out his game and earn a permanent spot in the lineup, it’ll end up being a great deal and if not, there’s no risk attached to it anyways.
