Forward Tyson Jost has signed a one-year, $874,125 contract, according to capfriendly.com and puckpedia.com.

Jost, who was a restricted free agent, had 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 67 games this past season, his third full NHL season. He had one goal in 12 postseason games.

General manager Joe Sakic said last week he hoped to sign Jost, 22, to a two-year deal.

The Avalanche’s first-round pick (No. 10) in the 2016 NHL draft, the 5-foot-11, 187-pound Jost has 72 points (32 goals, 40 assists) in 208 regular-season games. He has six points (four goals, two assists) in 30 postseason games.

With Jost under contract, newly-acquired defenseman Devon Toews, a restricted free agent, remains the lone significant player the Avalanche need to sign. They also need to sign two minor league restricted free agents, goalie Hunter Miska and defenseman Kyle Burroughs.

The Avalanche acquired Toews’ signing rights on Oct. 12 from the New York Islanders for second-round picks in 2021 and 2022.

The 6-1, 196-pound Toews, 26, had 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) in 68 games this past season, his first full season in the NHL. He had 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 22 postseason games.
