Gary Bettman has come out and said the NHL is considering shortening the season and it appears that the divisions will be re-aligned for one season with regional play far more likely...Nothing official, but this little bit of info has apparently started up the rumor machine a bit...albeit only into first gear...
On Hoffman...
Hoffman is close to signing and the one year deal number appears to be $5M. The Jackets and Preds appear to have moved onto other options. Montreal, Boston and Buffalo are now very much the teams to watch.
On Chara...
Boston the favorite, but it isn't done yet because of the Penguins i am told. They need to make something else happen first. Can they? TBD
On Barzal...
3 years/ 6.6 per.... a bridge deal on the Island, but they need to do something else to make it so...
On Vatanen....
Pretty much two teams...Winnipeg and Florida....Ottawa and NJ are interested but appear less likely...
On Haula...
Vegas IF they move MAF to Edmonton or Carolina....otherwise..my bet is Columbus...
