No, there still isn’t an official start date for the NHL season but from the info we got from the board of governors call, I’m hopeful that we’ll know sooner rather than later. For the first time, Gary Bettman has said that a temporary realignment is very likely. As discussed before, it makes sense considering the fact that the USA-Canada border remains closed and that cross-state travel could also be more complicated. In all likelihood, fans will get a lot more familiar with teams geographically close to theirs this upcoming season and I’m all for it. At this stage, I don’t care how many games we get and against which team, I just want to see some hockey.

Speaking of seeing some hockey, Cole Caufield will finally be starting is season tonight at 6 PM. The Wisconsin Badgers will be taking on Notre Dame and the game will be showed on NBCSN. Lucky American hockey fans! For fans based in Québec though, you’ll be pleased to know that TVA Sports will be showing 3 of the Remparts games in the next two weeks. Tune in to see the Remparts battle the Voltigeurs on Tuesday at 19:00, the Armada Thursday at 19:00 and the Cataractes on Wednesday November 25th at 19:00.

As for Jesperi Kotkaniemi, he is starting to hit his stride in Pori, he just had a two-assist game including an assist on his team’s OT winner. He played for 21 minutes and 44 seconds, completed 37 of his 41 passes and had a 50% success rate in the face-off department.

Meanwhile, Jesse Ylonen scored his 3rd goal of the season in the Finnish league:
