The Ottawa Senators could have gone in any number of directions with their Adidas Reverse Retro look for the upcoming season, as evidenced by the fact that some teams truly went way off the board. The Senators, though, played it relatively safe, and essentially flipped the colours on their recently-unveiled "2D" jersey:

From my perspective, playing it safe paid off. While it's certainly true that there was some appetite for a Heritage O look, this jersey hits all the right notes as well. The Senators truly have gone from having one of the worst looking jersey stables in the league to having one of the best. If the turnaround on the ice is as fast and effective, fans are in for a real treat over the coming years.

Some organizations, like the Colorado Avalanche, hit an absolute home run with their retro look. Others, like the Winnipeg Jets, grounded into a double play. Even if the Senators' don't reach the heights of the Avalanche's, Ottawa has hit a stand-up double at worst.
