Well, things may have turned from bad to worse today...but no need to panic yet..

The NHLPA is holding a major phone meeting at 4pm today to discuss the concept that the NHL may want to renegotiate the recently agreed upon CBA given the pandemic. The NHLPA is afraid the NHL may force the players to agree to terms or have no NHL season. That per Kypreos...

I am not hearing things are quite as contentious and dire as they may appear. The NHL will of course need a way to afford to play without fans this season and the players know this. In the CBA that was agreed to 4 months ago there was an agreement that the players would not be forced to take a pro-rated salary...

Stay tuned for some time on the roller coaster, but in the end the relationship between players and the league is NOT as bad as it was years ago....

more to come
