Flyers 2021 Training Camp Roster & Schedule

At roughly 1:00 p.m. today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced their roster and practice and scrimmage schedule for training camp. Player physicals will be tomorrow (Jan. 3) with on-ice practices beginning the next morning.

The training camp roster is as follows:

FORWARDS (22): Wade Allison (RW), Andy Andreoff (C/LW), Nicolas Aube-Kubel (RW), Connor Bunnaman (C), Sean Couturier (C), Joel Farabee (LW), Tyson Foerster (RW), Morgan Frost (C), Claude Giroux (C), Kevin Hayes (C), Travis Konecny (RW), Tanner Laczynski (C), Scott Laughton (C), Oskar Lindblom (LW), Samuel Morin (LW), Nolan Patrick (C), Michael Raffl (LW), Linus Sandin (RW), Carsen Twarynski (LW), James van Riemsdyk (LW), Jakub Voracek (RW), Zayde Wisdom (LW).

DEFENSE (14): Chris Bigras, Justin Braun, Mark Friedman, Shayne Gostisbehere, Erik Gustafsson, Robert Hägg, Philippe Myers, Derrick Pouliot, Nate Prosser, Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim, Tyler Wotherspoon, Wyatte Wylie, Egor Zamula.

GOALTENDERS (5): Brian Elliott, Carter Hart, Alex Lyon, Felix Sandström, Roddy Ross.

Roster notes:

1) Injury-related absences: Left winger Isaac Ratcliffe sustained a broken rib during pre-camp training and will miss a minimum of four weeks. Goaltender Kirill Ustimenko recently underwent surgery to repair a torn left hip labrum. The recuperation time period anticipated is between four to five months.

2) Four players remain on loan to teams in Europe and will not be in camp with the Flyers: German Rubtsov (HK Sochi, KHL), David Kase (HC Karlovy Vary, Czech Extraliga), Maksim Sushko (Dinamo Minsk, KHL), and Linus Högberg (HC Vita Hästen, Allsvenskan).

3) Second-year forward Joel Farabee has switched uniform numbers. He wore No. 49 last season as a rookie but will now sport No. 86.

4) Among new players on the team, the following uniform numbers have been issued: Linus Sandin will wear No. 36, Erik Gustafsson will wear No. 56, Wade Allison will wear No. 57, Tanner Laczynski will wear No. 58, and Derrick Pouliot will wear No. 51.

5) 2020 first-round pick Tyson Foerster will wear No. 52 and 2020 fourth-round pick Zayde Wisdom will wear No. 71.

6) There are no PTO players in camp, and all prospects in camp with the exception of draft-plus-two WHL goaltender Roddy Ross (No. 69) are under NHL entry-level contract.

In terms of the camp schedule, it breaks down as follows:

MON JAN 4: 11:00 A.M. practice for Group A & B, followed by a scrimmage.
TUE JAN 5: 11:00 A.M. practice for Group A & B, followed by a scrimmage.
WED JAN 6: 11:00 A.M. practice for Group A & B, followed by a scrimmage.
THU JAN 7: Complete off-day for all players.
FRI JAN 8: 11:00 A.M. practice for Group A & B, followed by a scrimmage.
SAT JAN 9: Group A practice (11 A.M. to noon), Group B practice (11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.)

Sunday, Jan. 10 marks the final day of camp and the venue will change from the Skate Zone in Voorhees to the Wells Fargo Center. Group A will start practice at 10:30 A.M. and Group B will follow immediately thereafter (after the ice is resurfaced) at 11:30 A.M. The two teams will then play in each other in a final intrasquad scrimmage at 7:00 P.M.
