After the Nashville Predators dropped their third straight game last night, a 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars, panic is beginning to set in some sections of Pred Nation. It’s hard to blame them, giving up eight power play goals in 2 games will cause that. The Stars put on a power play clinic over these two games. Moving the puck, moving their feet and generally making Nashville pay for every undisciplined move they made.
Nashville special teams… well, they weren’t so special. The “power” play is converting at 10% right now after last night’s PPG from Filip Forsberg and the penalty kill? An atrocious 55% kill rate.
So… before we start to increase the water displacement in the Cumberland River… we may want to look at a couple of positives.
The team did not fold the tents when they went down 3-1, I liked the response and the fight back… without a stellar performance from Aton Khudobin, we may have had a different outcome.
The traffic in front of the net led to the second goal, a masterful tip-in from Mikael Granlund.
The JoFA line looked better, with a nice PPG in the second.
Do the third period positives carry over? Pred Nation is hoping so as the Preds are back at it tomorrow night, with the first of two against Chicago at Bridgestone Arena.
