The Carolina Hurricanes have traded forward Alex Galchenyuk to the Toronto Maple Leafs, in exchange for forward Egor Korshkov and defenseman David Warsofsky.

The Hurricanes had just acquired Galchenyuk from the Ottawa Senators, as part of a deal that sent Ryan Dzingel back the other way. Galchenyuk has one goal in eight games so far this season.

Egor Korshkov is 24 years old and has spent the 2020-21 season in the KHL, where he has 16 goals and 31 points in 53 games. Warsofsky is 30 years old and has played 55 career NHL games but none since the 2017-18 season.
