The Carolina Hurricanes picked up a 5-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks last night, to improve to 11-3-1 this season.

This was a fairly complete game from the Hurricanes. They never really let up and were the better team throughout the majority of the night.

The forward group continues to click and the power play is also operating at 30 per cent right now. Six different forwards have at least five goals this season and seven players already have 10 points (with two other players at nine points, who have each missed three games).

Defensively, the Hurricanes also had a strong night. Despite giving up three goals once again, the Hurricanes didn’t allow a ton of great chances. James Reimer was okay but he did have a chance on each goal he let in. While the Hurricanes continue to get wins, I really think there should be an active pursuit for an upgrade in net. Maybe check in with Arizona to see what it would cost to make a deal for one of their netminders?

Regardless, it was a big win for the Hurricanes and those Whalers jerseys look good.
