One more outdoor game today at Lake Tahoe, this time between Boston and Philly! Only 4 games on the card today. We get two more North Division match-ups on Sunday evening, back to back! Road teams ruled the day yesterday. A few surprises yesterday with Detroit and Nashville pulling off upsets, considering they have been playing some awful hockey. Carolina made a huge statement dominating TB, after the Lightning were well rested with the Canes playing back to back nights. With most teams having played one third of their schedule, you can start to get a better handle on teams now.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 30-16! Vancouver fits the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 12-13 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 42-29 in that situation.
