The New York Islanders went 3-0-1 last week and had a forward return to the lineup. Here’s a recap of news and notes from last week.

ISLANDERS WIN THREE OF FOUR GAMES

The Islanders had a strong week, picking up seven of a possible eight points. They beat both the Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres, before splitting a two-game series with the Pittsburgh Penguins and picking up a point in their loss.

DAL COLLE RETURNS TO LINEUP

Forward Michael Dal Colle was activated off injured reserve last week and played in both of New York’s games against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dal Colle had missed four games with a lower-body injury.

CLUTTERBUCK INJURED

Forward Cal Clutterbuck missed both of New York’s games against the Penguins this past weekend with an injury. Clutterbuck’s status is listed as day-to-day.

SOROKIN EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

Rookie Ilya Sorokin picked up his second shutout of the year in New York’s 2-0 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday. Sorokin has played just five NHL games so far and after a shaky start, he now holds a .912 save percentage.
