The Los Angeles Kings played three games this week and a prospect made his NHL debut. Here’s a recap of news and notes from the week.
KINGS WIN ONE OF THREE GAMES
The Kings won one of three games this week, losing 3-2 to the Arizona Coyotes, before splitting a two-game series with the St. Louis Blues. The win against the Blues last night marked the end of a four-game losing streak for Los Angeles.
RASMUS KUPARI MAKES NHL DEBUT
Forward Rasmus Kupari made his NHL debut this week, playing in both games against St. Louis. Kupari was selected 20th overall by the Kings in the 2018 NHL Draft and had a strong start to the year with the AHL’s Ontario Reign but didn’t manage to register a point in the games against the Blues.
DARRYL SUTTER JOINS FLAMES
Former Kings head coach Darryl Sutter will be returning behind the bench for the Calgary Flames. Sutter was with Los Angeles for their Stanley Cups in 2012 and 2014.
