We are one week away from one of our favorite days of the year and so far we have seen almost nothing happen in this deadline. There is no question the odds are stacked against teams going into this trade deadline. The owners are already losing money, some in the background are saying they will lose MORE money if they make the playoffs.
Some teams who two weeks ago looked like definite sellers: Nashville, Arizona, San Jose, Columbus...are now hovering around the playoff bubble....Even the Rangers belive they could still add...
That combined with the quarantine and so few games actually left leaves this deadline in limbo and this week's games become absolutely vital as to which way this all plays out.

He has been the epitome of consistency and plays a great two-way, responsible game. The Devils wanted to keep him in the worst way. But negotiations fell apart over the weekend....The pricetag is a #1, a conditional #2 (on re-signing), and a prospect I am told. The Islanders and Bruins have been linked forever to Palmieri...over the weekend, the Flyers and Sharks stepped up I am told...
The #1 guy on defense right now? Jash Manson
Ekholm looks like he is staying. Ellis price is CRAZY. Savard's price is nuts as well. Manson is available and he is the kind of game-changer you dream about acquiring at the deadline.. He is tough, can move the puck, has a huge amount of sand paper, and is a big personality in the locker room.
The #1 goalie right now?
Darcy Kuemper has been leading the way, Linus Ullmark has his supporters. Bernier and Quick....maybe...But if they fall out of it, look to Brian Elliot as possibly the best backup/insurance plan there is out there...
