The San Jose Sharks are riding a four-game win streak and signed a prospect to an entry-level contract last week. Here’s a recap of news and notes from the week.

SHARKS WIN ALL FOUR GAMES

The Sharks are suddenly in playoff contention, after winning four straight games last week. San Jose swept a two-game series against the Minnesota Wild, before sweeping the Los Angeles Kings later in the week.

REEDY SIGNED TO ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT

The Sharks signed forward Scott Reedy to a two-year, entry-level contract this week. Reedy was selected by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2017 NHL Draft and has spent the last four years with the University of Minnesota.

SHARKS WILLING TO USE CAP SPACE TO ACQUIRE ASSETS

The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported this week that the Sharks could look to use their cap space in a deal ahead of the trade deadline. LeBrun said that the Sharks would be willing to take on a cap hit, in exchange for assets.

As for our poll questions, here are the results, along with my thoughts on how they turned out:

QUESTION: Where do you see Thomas Bordeleau ranked amongst Sharks’ prospects?

(Votes: 73)

Top 3: 55%
Top 5: 37%
Outside the Top 5: 8%

I’d agree that Bordeleau probably ranks in the Top-3 after his great rookie NCAA season. The Sharks’ prospect pool isn’t overly deep but Bordeleau is one of the standouts.

QUESTION: Do you think Scott Reedy will earn a full-time role with the Sharks at some point?

(Votes: 42)

No: 57%
Yes: 43%

Reedy’s numbers aren’t anything special, however, let's see how he performs in the AHL.
