The last few nights have been hard to get a handle on teams all of sudden. TB has now lost 5 of their last 7 games!
Today brings a very small card for Wednesday night. We have a 5PM EST with the Oliers/Sens. Can the Sens finally beat the Oilers tonight? Ottawa is a totally different team at home! Another huge tilt in the North Division has the Habs/Leafs going to head.
Meanwhile, the other 3 games tonight have the home teams looking to rebound from poor outings two nights ago against the same opponent. I expect some serious push back by St. Louis, Minnesota and LA tonight!
**I have started to research teams that come off at least a 5 game road trip and how they fare in their first game back home.** Its 7-6 to date.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are rested, either sitting at home or on the road while their opponent plays the night before. 17-7 over the last month of tracking it! Hitting at 74% rate! As well, the under is a nice 15-8-1 in these spots!
Scenario #2 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 68-40. Hitting at 58% success rate. St. Louis, Minnesota and LA fit the system tonight.
Scenario #3 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 32-23-2 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #4 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 91-66 in that situation.

First period totals going over were 3-6 last night and are 273-322 on the season.
Road teams were 4-5 last night and are 278-310 on the season.
Game totals going over the total were 7-2 last night and are 275-292-19 on the season.
Gamenotes for tonight –
Oilers/Sens – 5PM – Oilers have won all 7 games, with 4 of 7 going under the total, both games in Ottawa under the total. Ottawa played the Oilers very tough at home as HC Smith said it allows them to get the match ups they want on homeice with last line change.
Habs/Leafs – Leafs have won 3 of 4 head to head this season. No Carey Price, injured and not on the road trip.
Vegas/STL – Blues are terrible at home and have now lost 7 straight too boot! Vegas has won 4 of 5 head to head this season and 4 of 5 have gone over the total, with the other being a push!
Avs/Wild – Avs have won 5 of 7 head to head and 6 of 7 have gone over the total!
Yotes/LA – Yotes playing their 5th game in 8 nights on the road! Tired legs you think?! LA has won both on the road head to head, AZ has won both at home, so does AZ win again tonight on the road?
