The Los Angeles Kings played four games last week and a prospect made his highly-anticipated NHL debut. Here’s a recap of news and notes from the week.


KINGS WIN TWO OF FOUR GAMES

The Kings played a supersized series against the Anaheim Ducks this week, picking up two wins in four games. Los Angeles finishes with a 4-3-1 record against the Ducks this year.


BYFIELD MAKES NHL DEBUT

Top prospect Quinton Byfield made his debut for the Kings last week against the Anaheim Ducks. Byfield was selected with the second-overall pick in last year’s NHL Draft and had spent the beginning of the season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign. He played three games with Los Angeles last week, totalling five shots on goal.


LIZOTTE INJURED

Forward Blake Lizotte missed the Kings’ last two games against the Ducks with an upper-body injury. He also did not travel with the team to Arizona, according to The Athletic’s Lisa Dillman.


BJORNFOT SCORES FIRST NHL GOAL, LEMIEUX SCORES FIRST WITH KINGS

Rookie defenseman Tobias Bjornfot scored his first NHL goal last week, while forward Brendan Lemieux scored his first as a member of the Kings. Both goals came in Los Angeles’ loss to the Ducks on Saturday.
