The Los Angeles Kings will have the eighth-overall pick in this year’s NHL Draft, as determined by tonight’s draft lottery.

This comes after the Kings selected second and fifth overall in the last two drafts respectively, selecting Quinton Byfield and Alex Turcotte. Yet another high pick gives the team a chance to continue building onto what is one of the best prospect pools in the league.

As I said while talking about the Sharks’ position at seventh-overall, it’s pretty hard to predict who will still be available for the Kings to select with the eighth pick. That said, while this class may not be at the same caliber as those of some of the last few years, the Kings will have a good chance of selecting a future key player at eighth overall.

Leading up to the draft, I’ll be releasing articles looking at who the Kings could select.

If you're the Kings, do you consider moving this pick for someone who can help to speed up the rebuild?
Yes, for the right player
No, continue building the prospect pool
