The Anaheim Ducks used the third-overall pick to select forward Mason McTavish last night.

With the OHL season cancelled, McTavish spent the season in Switzerland, where he scored nine goals and 11 points in 13 games. The year prior, he had 29 goals and 42 points in 57 OHL games with the Peterborough Petes.

This could certainly be viewed as a surprising pick, as McTavish going as high as third overall was somewhat unexpected. That said, the Ducks need goal scoring and McTavish should be able to provide that down the road, as a future top-six forward.
